And 60543 Arctic Weather Satellite on 2230 MHz

I’m back, after almost one month, and I went through the list of the T11 satellites in order to update the status.

Some notes:

  • It looks like that finally we have 113 objects for this launch
  • About LUR-1, it looks like we have tracked the wrong transmission. The transmission that we observed in LUR-1 observations was YAM-7. I’ve made all the necessary changes in DB and Network to fix it, more specificaly a new satellite entry for LUR-1 is added by @pe2bz, as well as a new transmitter by @pe2bz and updated with more details by @pe0sat, for the old LUR-1 entry I’ve merged it with the YAM-7 entry and moved all the observations to YAM-7 entry.
  • Identification below is based mostly on Network observations and confirmed in space-track.org. However some of them are only based on space-track.org, so there is a small possibility not to be accurate. In the last update column is described how we identified the satellites.
  • Usually I’m uploading results from ikhnos on archive.org about the identification based on Network observations, but due to the recent issues with the archive.org I’ve kept the results locally. Anyone can replicate easily the results by running ikhnos on any of the satellite’s good observations. If someone needs any help or extra evidence, let me know here or with pm.
  • We have two remaining unknown satellites, the one is received (Unknown_3_T11) and identified as object but we don’t have any hints which one is it, the other (Unknown_2_T11) is probably received and it is probably LEMU-NGE but we need more observations with the updated TLE (based on space-track.org identification) to confirm it.
  • I haven’t checked all the space-track.org identified objects, so many satellites not in DB or not received remain unidentified in SatNOGS DB, I’m going to check them the next days

60548 ICEYE-X33

Need one more to confirm but usally these fit right in the first observation

Edit: Found one obs from a day before, so suggested satellite and added transmitter for it.

LUR-1 on S-band 2217 MHz

@K4KDR Scott, can you give this one a checkup ? From the waterfall it looks like 125 kHz wide which could be a match with a LoRa mode ?

Sure will!

While I wait for the next pass here, do you have any audio or I/Q recordings?

I have strf only :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I see on SatNogs that LUR-1 does list 2217 MHz as a downlink freq.

Finally after a long wait, I have a decent pass later tonight.

Have you seen any additional instances of that wide-band downlink?

LUR-1 was super strong on 400 MHz 15-Oct @ 0345utc over the Eastern U.S., but nothing seen on 2217 MHz. I wonder if you might be near a ground station that Spain is using? Perhaps S-Band is only used when in-range of a ground station?

Here is a single burst of 9k6 AX.100 packets at exactly the right time - decoded 12 frames.

… if anyone manages to capture an I/Q recording of these wide-band signals from LUR-1, I sure would like to analyze. Sample rate of 625k or greater would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

Yes, I noticed another pass of that signal. Let me try and record an s-band pass the upcoming weekend. Now which SDR is attached to which antenna again… In the middle of reorganazation of the mess

Edit: Wired the strf hackrf to windows PC running sdrconsole. Scheduled recording for the 12:21 and 13:55 local time passes , 32 and 25 degrees elevation.

I think I might do this again but with 2217 MHz not in the center ?

30 seconds from the pass before

32 bit iq created with datafile editor from sdr console, 675 kHz bandwidth, 2217 center, 32 bits iq

trying to receord another 2 passes tonight away from the dc spike

Yes - that’s why I prefer Airspy products… no center spike!

Thanks for the I/Q file, but we’ll need a higher pass (i.e., more SNR) to tell much. In inspectrum, it’s just a smudge.

And no S- band

This friday 13:03 local time I expect a 73 degrees elevation pass. and 23:50 another 79 degrees pass. I will record tonight’s passes to check, if signal is not clearly improved I will skip the upload till friday

3 passes with 45+ degrees elevation but no trace of the “lora like” signal, only a much wider transmission ( 1MHz or more) in all 3 passes.
