By the release of the 50th anniversary issue of the Space-Pi project digest, the UMKA-1 (RS40S) satellite will begin transmitting a series of postcards from orbit using the SSTV protocol.
Additional. At the request of fellow radio amateurs. One image is planned, dedicated to the radio amateur satellite “KEDR” RS1S, launched on August 3, 2011. Didn’t work for long. On January 4, 2012, it left the orbit. But the satellite was good. A special eQSL card is provided for receiving this image! Send reports and requests to umka1@school29.com
SSTV transmission schedule of the MKA “UMKA-1 (RS40S)”:
*** Transmission start: August 09, 2025 at ~00:59 UTC.**
*** Transmission end: August 10, 2025 at ~22:50 UTC.**
Hello everyone. Umka is broadcasting, but there is probably an error loading the schedule. I noticed at least one, so at some point the interval is more than five minutes. On the evening flights I will load a new schedule taking into account the incorrect image. The broadcast will be extended including Monday.
Thanks for update - I heard tlm blips on 2 passes this morning but no SSTV. Not the best passes (max 20deg & 35deg) but would normally expect to get something. I was beginning to think I was being really unlucky hearing the tlm at max ele then sstv being when bird was too low or sky obstructed. I’ll try again later in the weekend.
