UMKA-1 telescope satellite mission

Thanks for the info.

Daniel answered correctly. A special QSL card is not planned, but a card confirming reception will be sent to any request as confirmation of the received signal from the UMKA-1 cubesat.
This applies to images, beacon signals, any telemetry information and text messages.

The UMKA-1 team’s email umka1@school29.com remains unchanged for all reports. Due to the large number of messages and lack of free time, there may be a delay in response, but if you have not received an answer within two weeks, you can resend the letter or notify via private messages.

For broadcasts of children’s drawings, certificates are provided for children (since this event is aimed at children), but radio amateurs are sent a regular eQSL card. Special cards of confirmation of reception, to maintain interest among radio amateurs, are timed to coincide with some events and international holidays. For example, the nearest such event is International Women’s Day (March 8).

There are special certificates for radio amateurs for participation in some experiments that are conducted on the satellite, for assistance and contribution.
Or competitions, quests and other events specifically for radio amateurs.

The team additionally reports this if this happens globally. And individually, if the experiment is local.

In addition to the main task of the mission, which turned out to be very intense and difficult, the team of the UMKA-1 cubesat aims to interest children and young people in astronomy, space and radio hobbies, and to diversify the everyday life of an ordinary radio amateur.

Therefore, letters and questions from radio amateurs are welcomed by the UMKA team.

Thanks for the info Alexsey. I’ll watch out for the next special event. Thanks for all the hard work supporting the satellite and our community.

This could be an image to celebrate the Defender of the Fatherland Day as announced on onthe_air. I again refrain from publishing images of it, as I see no connection to amateur radio in a holiday that honors the (Russian) military.

You are right. I can see a SU57, I am afraid its not a toy for a child and its not a hamradio equipment. Its propaganda. I prefer other satellites…

Nothing but telem packets from UMKA-1 on the 1445utc pass over the Eastern U.S., so maybe the SSTV will be starting a bit later than the time given in the notice.

Thankfully, VIZARD-meteo -is- transmitting SSTV per the schedule, so we’re not completely without imaging opportunities this weekend (0154utc)

Hi Alexsey @ra3ppy - any schedule for this event yet? Didn’t see anything on R4UAB site just now. Be nice to catch an image or 2 if reasonable passes at my QTH.
Thanks
