Soyuz-2.1b / Fregat - Vostochny Launch - 2025-12-28 13:18:05 UTC

We already have some good observations on network… Perhaps this would be useful.

Here you can find a GALAPAGOS IQ file in the readme you can find some details on the IQ properties.

GALAPAGOS transmits in AFSK AX.25 @ 1143 bd.
On Windows it can be demodulated with UZ7HO’s SoundModem v1.14.

The difference from 1143 bd to 1200 bd is 57 bd and 57/1143 ≈ 0.05. Therefore, an increase of 5% or 50000 ppm is required to trick the SoundModem into decoding it as AFSK AX.25 1200 bd.

Great work to everyone involved w/ this non-standard AFSK situation!

And if, by chance, you would like to output those decodes to the direwolf display that I enjoy, note that if you add

–kiss_out /tmp/kisstnc

to your gr_satellites command string, the decoded packets will be sent to direwolf running in a separate window w/ the “-p” switch!

GALAPAGOS-UTE-SWSU over Brazil :brazil: !!

Several other signs were also received… I will try to identify them little by little.

It’s difficult work because my right wrist is having serious problems

Guys, I noticed a modulated FSK signal at 437.2 MHz… Any ideas ??

I know that SatNogs isn’t configured to do LoRa decodes, but since we’re all looking at the same spectrum, I wanted to pass along the finding of a signal that I’ve not yet been able to match to any satellite.

While monitoring the strong 125k LoRa downlinks from KOSAR-1.5, a 62.5k packet showed up in the waterfall….

… later, I isolated that packet and determined the LoRa parameters. Unfortunately no ASCII to help ID the source (unless ‘G43’ means something). So, if anyone sees a ‘smaller’ (62.5k) packet around 436.080 that you think might be FSK, it’s this LoRa packet. I don’t know if it might be from an existing sat (I couldn’t find a match) or a payload from this 28-Dec launch. Thanks if anybody happens to find a possible match at some point.

The decoded frame & LoRa parameters:

You are more then welcome and good to see it is being used.
If there are errors or we have missing information please let me know.

We seem to have far more satellites on this launch then the initial list.

As I’m currently focused on T15 launch and PHASMA mission and some changes in the orbital data there, any help on vetting, adding suggestions in DB for transmitters or satellites, any TLE fixes are more than welcome!

And by the way thanks everyone for your reception reports!

If you find more instances for this in the next passes let me know. I’m saying that in order to verify that it belongs to this launch and it wasn’t just another satellite passing by.

I’ve also added in DB, Scorpion, Kosar 1.5, Mule 4T and we have also GRIFON 1 to 4 added but without transmitters for now.

In the next hour I’m going to update the matrix at the first post with all the updates and I’m going to add TLE sets for the new satellites in order to be schedulable in the network.

@pu4elt @bali Let me know about it if you find it also in the next passes, to verify that it belongs to this launch. Worst case scenario we add it in DB as unknown.

Thank you! And on further inspection, it turns out that there are -2- separate transmitters sending frames w/ the same parameters. The second is in the area of 436.320. (red ovals - both signals on 1-minute interval)

Temporary “Survey” objects have been created on the tinyGS network so that all stations world-wide not in-range of some known satellite are monitoring for these two signals. Those URL’s for anyone curious are:

-and-

… decodes started appearing almost immediately, so given time the approximate position will hopefully match a known (or sometimes UN-known) satellite!

Hello guys! Here are preliminary corrected with strf TLEs for bunch of new satellites. Our NORAD ids not matches with selected by satnogs, sorry for this. Seems that TLE`s more accurate and reduces frequency error from 3kHz nearly to 300Hz. Hope they can be useful.
