seeing these frames as well, but 25 minutes ahead of 58555, so puzzled at the moment. have yet to rule out user error!
I had missed out on the discussion around this satellite, so wanted to grab a sample file to test my flowgraph.
This one worked very well w/ multiple clean packets (what else is new from a PE0SAT station!)

… and decoded nicely:
… however, the decodes that Bob just posted show TY-47 instead of Jan’s TY-30.
So, it appears that what Bob just reported is HONGHU-3 (100370). Congrats!!
Thanks Scott!
Could be HONGHU-3. In retrospect, the (in hindsight) overhead pass over my QTH mapped very well to NORAD 100370. Suggest those interested try and confirm if 100370 holds.
We’ve been down this path before. For those who remember Possible New One
There is a precedent: TY‑NN isn’t a per‑mission public name at all — it looks like a manufacturer’s internal sequential bus number (Changsha Tianyi/CTYK is listed as 58555’s manufacturer, so “TY” almost certainly = “Tianyi”). Different TY‑NN numbers can belong to totally unrelated missions with their own separate public names (Honghu‑2 = TY‑30, but TY‑41 = an unrelated 2024 satellite, not a Honghu).
So: TY‑47 could be a later satellite off that same manufacturer’s line — a bus number.
Hopefully we can get some more clarity on this.
Good Hunting All,
Bob
N6RFM
Hi Bob,
Nothing received on 401.612 MHz during a high elevation pass (73 deg) of HONGHU-3 over my QTH. Do you suspect any other satellite?
Merkouris
Hi Merkouris,
Not at this time. Will plan some STRF and see what we find.
Best,
Bob
