I guess there could be some simple relationship between what you have decoded
and what FoxTelem got but I still do not see it (Hex, KISS format, any?).
There’s a documentation of these values available - I don’t know if I am allowed to upload this in here.
But there’s also a current documentation in the source code of foxtelem.
Thanks for these instructions. I just used them to on Fox-1D and successfully decoded them using FoxTelem. My FoxTelem automatically uploads it, but perhaps SatNOGs already uploads the telemetry to AMSAT? If not, it would be great to get this functionality added.
Uptime appears to be seconds since the last re-boot. Notice the uptime has moved forward about 14-15 secs between reports. Fox-1A was launched Oct 8, 2015, so the total seconds since then is 1,398,240+ But uptime is less than that figure. It’s either uptime rolled over or the satellite has rebooted since.
Sorry they are not on the Internet somewhere where they can be linked to.
I’m not an admin. Maybe the Gallery would be a good place to post the documentation for the satellites that use FoxTelem. I think it would be really good to save the procedure on how to decode the telemetry somewhere so that other people can try it too.
@n5fxh@elkos@Joanna I’m certainly experienced in writing Wikipedia articles. I would love to contribute a section(s) under Operate – Decode Telemetry and Packets, and then open-up into sections that correspond to satellite(s)/series and their various transponders.
Yes … so @n5fxh Francois-Xavier showed me how to download the ogg audio, convert it to a .wav file and import into FoxTelem and see everything in human readable form.
I did not want to lose how to do that and bury it here in this one observation. If there’s an initial consensus, I will start adding a section called “Decode Telemetry and Packets” under Operate as my contribution back into a very nice system.
