Why the radio operators in South America show not any discipline when using the Lapan-A2 (IO-86 ) Sat. Did they not learning English to communicate and why all try to speak at the same moment. For me as PJ2LS there is no fun anymore to communicate tot the satellite as long it is a complete mess on the receiver side.

SSTV scheduled for 1737 WIB today 18th August… and they are just chatting via the satellite, no images sent!

Yes, I heard maybe half a second of SSTV signal, then it cut off and back to 2 hams chatting… Ah well, I’ll try again next time 
19th August - By the time they had stopped chatting and decided to send an SSTV image, the elevation was down to 3 degrees, so no decent image was received by me…

Yes, for some reason they do not start SSTV transmissions when the bird is over Aceh province (west Indonesia), which has a similar pass time as my location just north of Aceh. So I only catch the images as the bird disappears over my horizon towards central Indonesia

Yeah, friends over western part of Sumatra also complained that they didn’t heard anything until LOS. But oh well probably due local terrain and conditions it doesn’t allow it to transmit until at high elevation.
