I am using a galvanized steel wire, 2mm thick. Does slight dent on the wire affect the overall performance of the antenna.
You would preferably avoid those. One trick would be to twist the wire on itself before turning it (thus making it straight).
That said you could be OK as it is. Do you have a VNA you could use for analyzing the built antenna?
