WXtoIMG not able to find soundcard

I’m not sure if wxtoimg related issues are for this community, but I did search and found some questions.

I’m using WXtoIMG 2.10.11 (downloaded from https://wxtoimgrestored.xyz/) with POP_OS 20.10 (POP_OS is based on Ubuntu and essentially follows Ubuntu releases).

Under recording options, I don’t see a way to choose my sound card details apart from the options shown in this screenshot:

Is there a way to tell xwxtoimg where my soundcard is located?

what are the options in the soundcard dropdown?

Hi @K3RLD thanks for replying.

The options are:

/dev/dsp, /dev/dsp1, /dev/dsp2, /dev/dsp3 or /dev/padsp

None of which work. After running alsa-info (full output I’ve managed to find what I think is my soundcard device:

/dev/snd/by-path/pci-0000:00:1f.3

based on this:

$ ls -la /dev/snd/by-path/pci-0000\:00\:1f.3
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Apr 28 13:56 /dev/snd/by-path/pci-0000:00:1f.3 -> ../controlC0

but I’ve not got that working yet.

Any suggestions?

If it helps, OS is Pop!_OS 20.10 (based on Ubuntu 20.10).

Hmm. No - after reading your response I went and looked at my own setup, and sure enough it’s pretty much identical. I think I’ve always just recorded the passes with gqrx and then downsampled and imported into WXtoIMG (although I think maybe I did sucessfully import audio once or twice… maybe it was with a USB soundcard? It’s been a long time, though.
