"If you missed out on the chance to get the SSTV Series 30 images via the ISS, there’s an event coming up to fulfill that need.

Satellite RS-38S will begin transmitting these images “within the next 5-7 days”. Not all details are finalized, but what we know is below!"

"ARISS-RU is holding a special broadcast for all SSTV enthusiasts. SSTV image series #30, which was not transmitted from the International Space Station (ISS) due to a technical failure, will be rebroadcast, but this time from the VIZARD-METEO (RS38S) satellite. The broadcast theme is the 25th anniversary of the amateur radio station’s operation on the ISS.

SSTV Broadcast Schedule for the VIZARD-METEO (RS38S) satellite:

  • Broadcast Start: December 5, 2025, at ~00:00 UTC.
  • Broadcast End: December 14, 2025, at ~23:59 UTC.
  • Format: SSTV Robot 36

The interval between transmissions is 120 seconds (may be adjusted later)."

Given that the satellite is not coordinated and scheduling is limited, I’m going to schedule observations for this event as it is coming through the ARISS-RU.

If you want your station to be part of this scheduling/event, you need to make sure that in settings, the value on setting " Scheduling of Frequency Violators by" is either “Only Operators” or “Everyone”.

If you have the settings above but you don’t want to participate in this event, please send me a pm and I’ll exclude you.

Hi Fredy I have tried to schedule passes but have not been able to even with the setting set to everyone. is the because to many observations have been scheduled?

Yes, please read this to understand how the limits work:

Thanks Fredy, I have read this before. I was just wondering if normal scheduling was going to be allowed for the event?

It would have been better to use UMKA1 or another satellite that is not in violation/frequency miss use.

Indeed, let me know if you want me to let you out from this event.

By the way I’m scheduling this as this was supposed to be transmission from ISS and ARISS-RU but it moved through this satellite, as ISS had issues.

I’ve not had much luck so far. On a couple of passes I have heard signal with Mark-1 Ear but in both cases too low in noise and disappeared to unreadable before a successful decode. Tomorrow morning looks best pass of the weekend for my QTH so hopefully will get at least one reasonable image for the ARISS diploma.
