Is there currently any way to reload some parameters (for example the gain) on the fly in the client, just before an observation. I would like to test some adjustments of gain depending on observations, more precisely on the maximum elevation and power of transmitter.

Unfortunately there is something like implemented. So, you will need to run satnogs-setup each time and changing the gain.
For adjusting gain check also this wiki article, that describes how you can use gqrx for testing your setup.
