Thank you very much. I’m almost fine now. It’s just a cold. And choosing a gift for a beloved woman is a frequent stress for a man))))
The team of the School Space Telescope project, P.I. Zabrodin School No. 29, Podolsk, announces a diploma program that will begin from March 15, 06:00 UTC to March 17, 20:20 UTC.
During this time, seven images of astronomical objects drawn by children for the UMKA satellite will be transmitted in SSTV format.
The format is SSTV Robot 72
Frequency - 437.625 MHz
The interval between the start of transmission of each image will be 4 minutes.
To receive a diploma, it is enough to accept one (1), any picture in acceptable quality.
At least 70% of the received image must be readable.
In the application for graduation, it is required to specify:
- Full name and call sign (if available)
- Reception location (locality/QTH locator)
- Date and time of image reception
- Describe the equipment to which the reception was carried out (receiver, antenna, lna, etc.)
Applications with accepted images should be sent by e-mail umka1@school29.com
no later than March 18, 09:00 UTC.
The processing of applications for a diploma is scheduled for one month.
You can share the resulting images. But it is recommended to put a call sign on the accepted image to identify the affiliation of the accepted image to a specific person.
A new schedule has been launched.
The interval between the start of each image transmission is 200 seconds.
5 pictures are broadcast (without abstraction). Robot72 format
Everything else is the same. This broadcast until Monday morning (07:30 UTC) + new drawings next weekend.
I have one more missing hope to catch it in the evening
hope can get all 5 pict.
I’ve now submitted (only) 5 images (Kostya, Lev, Sascha, Sofia (cat + moon).
There were no different images from yesterday’s 21:0x pass on.
Hi!
Yes. I have decided to leave this weekend’s broadcast unchanged. Additional downloading and work with the satellite would make it impossible to receive the signal within the radio visibility of the MCC (the large European part of the continent). Additional images will be uploaded this week and will be broadcast on Saturday and Sunday.
No images on 08:3x and 10:2x passes, just beacons and some controlling output.
I apologize. The broadcast of SSTV images has been postponed.
Hello,
I m a bit confuse about the UMKA telemetry decoding. Here is an exemple of a frame i received (437.625 MHz) an decoded with gr_satellites (as AX25):

If i look at the code of the decoder from @Foxiks here , i see that it’s decoding only if the sequence a464829c has been found at the beginning of the frame :
if(frame[:8]=='a464829c'):
telemetry_decoder(frame)
But if i look at my frame, i don’t have this sequence, so does that means this is not telemetry ? If not, what is it ? What am i missing
fyi: also today no images, just beacons
The telemetry format on the satellite has been changed for a long time and my decoder is not working. Do not pay attention
Oh ok, any documentation available maybe ? (i didn’t find anything on my site).
I’ll answer a little later. Sorry for waiting.
Tonight Umka will begin the final SSTV broadcast of the diploma program.
The broadcast starts on March 29 at 17:20 UTC.
Broadcast ends on March 31 at 18:55 UTC
Reports will be accepted until 23:59 UTC 03/31/24.
The format is SSTV Robot 72
Frequency - 437.625 MHz
How many images are rotated? I got 4 so far.
I also had an interesting pass in the morning where the second transmission was just ‘empty’?
At least my sstv decoder didn’t generate anything. I also realized in the evening that you switched to Robot 36.
Up to now, I only got 3 different images from a total of 4.
Go ahead encse, submit your images and get the diploma!
I also noticed the switch to Robot 36.
What was the 4th image?
The flying cat.
I think you are supposed to put some watermark on the images before publishing. It was mentioned somewhere
