Thanks for the message. I’ll have to restart in the morning. Unfortunately, now I won’t be able to reach UMKA.
I planned to sleep until lunch tomorrow. But it just wasn’t meant to be.

UmKA-1 with a maximum elevation of 5.4 degrees for my QTH here in Brazil :brazil: (Strong ionospheric scintillation at the end of the transmission)

Very nice!!

Am I doing something wrong? Have had several UMKA-1 passes but nothing but telemetry packets over my location.

Here is from 0151utc tonight…

This was the last SSTV signal at 1930 last night, after that it went back to normal telemetry. I think ra3ppy was going try and carry out a restart when Umka-1 is next in range.

@pu4elt and @dl7ndr are both of you using motorized directional antennas or an omnidirectional antenna to capture theses images? all min are omnidirectional with mixed success.

In almost all my UHF receptions I use a Yagi OWA with 7 elements and manual pointing (My DIY rotor is still under construction)

Here in Brazil it is VERY difficult to buy quality filters/amplifiers/SDRs, so I have never been able to get a good omnidirectional setup with an SDR (my SatNOGS station is an example of this)

I have been able to receive good SSTV images with omnidirectional antennas, but all with my Yaesu FT-60R, which is not as overloaded with interference as my SDRs.

Thanks for the info, I plan to get a cross beam Yagi but have just bought a mag-mount antenna for the car and omnidirectional for the roof and need to wait before buying another antenna.

At the end of transmission the UmKA-1 was at about 5.6 degrees to my QTH here in Brazil :brazil: (Very strong ionospheric scintillation)

After seeing some UMKA-1 passes w/ NO SSTV downlinks, and others with the full rotation of modes including ONE SSTV downlink, imagine my surprise w/ tonight’s pass ending at 0144utc to see -3- of them! First one was way too low and the 2nd one quite noisy. But the last one was not bad!

I’m using a 3+3 el HB9CV (9.5 dBd) with preamp on a rotator in the attic.

Hi all.
For some reason, I couldn’t get to the forum today.

Umka delivers a postcard in honor of Valentine’s Day.

The broadcast began this morning at 07:50 UTC
and ends tomorrow at 17:00 UTC
