Hi Daniel!
For the latest SSTV broadcast, no certificates have been provided.
But the regular eQSL programme works for amateur radio operators always.
The certificates from the link above are sent to kids, for submitting drawings, as eQSL radio amateurs.
I can tell you that there is an interesting event planned for the end of December. One of the telescope shots will be split into a series of squares and gradually transmitted to ground stations. Anyone can take part. I will post details shortly.
Special certificates are available for participation in this experiment.
I’m sorry for the early question, but will the image be broadcast on SSTV or will it be broadcast in digital packets ??
The photograph from the telescope will be transmitted in digital packets.
Well… If everything goes well, this will be my first attempt at receiving images transmitted in digital protocol by UmKA-1
Thanks for that
February 28 marks the 85th anniversary of the Palace of Pioneers and Schoolchildren named after N.K. Krupskaya, located in the city of Chelyabinsk.
The Palace of Pioneers operates the Impuls radio laboratory, under the direction of Evgeny Melnikov (R9AL).
The radio laboratory turns 75!
The Impuls radio laboratory actively works with children, which is confirmed by the numerous achievements of the team from Chelyabinsk. They have already taken part in the Stratospheric Launch project three times and their projects have always been interesting.
On June 27, 2023, the small spacecraft StratoSat-TK1 was successfully launched into orbit from the Vostochny Cosmodrome and had six pico-satellites in its container. One of them, StratoSat-TK1-A, was created by the students of the Impuls radio laboratory. And this is not the last achievement. The team does not plan to stop there.
The diploma program in honor of the significant date for radio amateurs has been decided to start in December of this year.
From December 4 to 5, 2024, the UMKA-1 will broadcast greeting cards. A diploma program will be organized as part of the event.
Each participant who sends at least one image during the broadcast period, before December 6, will receive an electronic diploma.
Send applications for the diploma to email: r9al@mail.ru with the received images attached.
Indicate “SSTV UMKA” in the subject line.
The application form must contain the following information:
Information taken from THIS message in the telegram.
Any more information about when on the 4th this event is starting? Could not find anything on r4uab.ru.

Tomorrow’s broadcast of images from the UMKA-1 small spacecraft will begin at 03:20 UTC (04-12-2024).
SSTV Robot36 format
Intervals - 154 sec.
Frequency - 437.625 MHz
Only 1 image received due to buildings blocking first part of pass. Will try again on this evenings pass. What time is broadcast due to end? Will it still be active for tomorrow a.m. pass (0930Z) over UK?
04-Dec-2024 0946-48Z.
The scheduled end time of the broadcast is 05-12-24 06:20 UTC, because… UMKA will require a short rest and loading of the schedule for the current mission.
But by the new year (end of December and beginning of January) there will be a lot of activities. In addition, an experiment in transmitting images from the telescope in high quality is planned from mid-December.
To do this, it is planned to attract radio amateurs who want to take part in this event.
Alexsey, thanks for the update. I will try this evening pass (2027utc) over UK. Look forward to the next mission and the exciting updates in the new year.
Umka is the best cubesat without questions. Friendly operator, frequent transmissions, even a telescope. Wow

My efforts with a homebrew 2m/70cm dipole stuck out of the window of a ground floor apartment with trees and other high buildings around me don’t match up to Daniel’s and Kim’s in the quality department but here what I got this pass.

Hi Christopher,
Thanks for your comments. I’m using a home built QHF antenna (currently Hanging of a washing line) you could try building something like this and put it on a tripod outside your apartment then you have a good mobile omnidirectional antenna.
Does anyone else have issues with emails being rejected as spam when sent to r9al@mail.ru?
No matter what i do i cant seem to get through…
