SpaceX F9: Fram2: 2025-04-01 01:46:50 UTC (Fram2Ham)

Fram2 is online! Not sure precisely when it started, but SSTV transmissions have begun.

Note also that there is only a split second gap between transmissions. The TLE tracked perfectly for doppler, too!

Hi Jon,

I like to say thanks for the images, but there is a competition going on.
So we have been asked to not publish (also in the manual, page 15) the images.

Fram-2 made a burn last night at 0350 UTC to circularize its orbit to 427 x 432 km x 90.0 deg.

On the 08:25UTC pass over the UK I captured 11 images, but had lots of interference. No more passes until tonight now.

I only managed 4 of the images and like you they are quite noisy.
Tonight’s pass is only c21deg max for me but I’ll give it a go.

We captured 5 quite good images on the 6:49 UTC NL pass with the Dwingeloo telescope.

I don’t want to make you envious guys, but on the pass starting at 08:21 UTC I’ve received 10 images in a very good quality.
Only one of those images has a 1/3 part of low signal.

I’m not envious at all  On a second look, and using a script rather than a mobile phone in front of the speakers, we decoded six almost perfect quality pictures on the 6:49 UTC pass. The maximum elevation was 14 degrees above the horizon.

Frame 4-7 received perfectly with very strong signal strength. 3 more that was ok. Then the garbage truck with its FHSS 433 MHz crane started 50m away. That was the end of that :smirk:

Nothing over Antarctica yet.

Given that they transmit over the locations of participants in the competition for saving power, I don’t expect any transmission over Antarctica, however I suggest you continue tracking it with that station as their schedule may change, if power allows.

Ah Thanks, I didn’t know that they limit those transmissions mainly to Europe and NA…
There seems to have been no transmissions for the last 5 hours anyway…

@K4KDR Nice reception, but we have been requested not to post the images until after the schools have finished the competition.
