Lately I had to reinstall my system due to HDD failure. It was an opportunity to upgrade to Debian 13. But as soon as I finished the installation I had issue communicating with my Satnogs rotator. It is a SatNOGS v3.0.1 with v1 electronics and firmware.
The problem is that until Debian 12 provided hamlib 4.5.4 but Debian 13 switched to 4.6.5.
Bisecting hamlib I have found that the “offending” commit is #7334da
I rolled back to 4.5.4 and everything is working as supposed to do.
So the question is … What are future plans? Are we going to stick with hamlib 4.5.x forever? Are we going to update our rotators firmware? Something else?
