SatNOGS client start failure

Hello,

After many months of trouble-free operation, my satnogs client failed to start properly. The client is continuously starting and crashing. The only messages from journalctl are:

Oct 12 11:09:30 satnogs systemd[1]: Started SatNOGS client.
Oct 12 11:09:30 satnogs satnogs-client[5820]: linux; GNU C++ version 6.2.0 20161010; Boost_106100; UHD_003.009.005-0-unknown
Oct 12 11:09:40 satnogs systemd[1]: satnogs-client.service: Main process exited, code=killed, status=11/SEGV
Oct 12 11:09:40 satnogs systemd[1]: satnogs-client.service: Unit entered failed state.
Oct 12 11:09:40 satnogs systemd[1]: satnogs-client.service: Failed with result ‘signal’.
Oct 12 11:09:41 satnogs systemd[1]: satnogs-client.service: Service hold-off time over, scheduling restart.
Oct 12 11:09:41 satnogs systemd[1]: Stopped SatNOGS client.

I’ve tried the following steps:

  • checking SD card for file system errors
  • updating/upgrading the OS and the satnogs client

Any ideas from this point on will be apreciated
Thanks,
Dragos yo3gcf

Hey @YO3GCF

Do you have any update? Did you manage to solve the issue?

Hi,
I would try:

  1. new SD card
  2. use sudo su for every operation
  3. try other SDR
  4. if using USB cable with SDR, try without it. I have had 2 broken cables.

Hi,

Thank you both for your answers!

The problem was solved with a fresh install from raspberry image. Hardware is the same, nothing changed. Until now, all semms to work ok.
