Satellite Request / Question (NO-84)

I have found ParkinsonSAT (NO-84) 40654 - ParkinsonSAT in the database, but it doesn’t appear there are TLEs for it as of it.

While it’s not available in CelesTrak or SpaceTrack, keps are available from AMSAT NA:

https://www.amsat.org/amsat/ftp/keps/current/nasa.all

Would it be possible to include as a source enabling tracking of NO-84?

**edited to move to SatNOGS category.

@pierros Did you have any thoughts on being able to include this prediction data for NO-84?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention @nb3t !

@comzeradd we have been discussing this in the past for a couple of other satellites (including Fox1A). There seems to be a dry txt available here: https://www.amsat.org/amsat/ftp/keps/current/nasabare.txt

Would there be a way for us to fetch TLEs with a custom URL for selected sats?

We already have an open issue for that and it’s something that totally makes sense. The problem we need to solve with these sources is that they don’t provide a unique url per norad id.

For now, I enabled the “Manual TLE” toggle on ParkinsonSAT and added the TLE information from the link @nb3t mentioned above. So the satellite is available now for observations. I already scheduled one

True, we will have to parse those files :frowning: Not pretty!

Thanks @comzeradd & @pierros

Speaking of the NORAD ID, there’s an error on the AMSAT page for this satellite:

https://www.amsat.org/two-way-satellites/psat-no-84/

This identifies NO-84 as 40652, but it’s actually 40654. I made an inquiry to AMSAT, but have received no response. So, just a word of caution if you were to grab data from the above URL.

This satellite may be a decent one to include. The digipeter has been on for a while now and it has gained a bit more interest since the ISS was having issues.

I caught a capture of ParkinsonSAT https://network.satnogs.org/observations/22502/

Cheers.
