Hi, is there a setting I can use that will set the rtl-sdr’s gain to automatic? I have it manually set to a optimum number as far as I know but I would like to use AGC instead.

Short answer: no, there isn’t!

Longer answer:
In gr-osmosdr, which is the library we use for running the SDR, there is an option, but we haven’t expose it to gr-satnogs and the satnogs-client.
So, for now it is not possible. Please open an issue in https://gitlab.com/librespacefoundation/satnogs/satnogs-client/issues.
Just have in mind that we move from gr-osmosdr to gr-soapy which is a better solution and exposes more settings of several SDRs, so maybe it is not going to be implemented soon.
