Please observe TTU100

Hi everyone. Can you please schedule observing TTU100 cubesat at 435.45 MHz. We just received what seems to be responses to commands but unfortunately did not manage to capture full packet dumps.

I’ve scheduled station #1539 for you. Next pass is 3 hours out… Cancelled a bobcat-1 to get this in.

I’ve scheduled also some high elevation passes for the next 48h.
Please let us know when you are going to try again contacting TTU100 so we can schedule observations around that time.

TTU100 communicates, but with few caveats, caused by specific configuration that is working.

  1. Morse signal is not sent, so only FSK telemetry packets are transmitted
  2. Backup radio is used, and the signal is very weak. Our own groundstation is not able to decode the packets, the receiver that we are successfully receiving with is using is 3m diameter dish

It seems that the transmission frequency drifts a couple of KHz. Still looking on observations, with some more good ones we will be able to do some calculations.

From some first calculations, it seems that drift is ~2KHz. So, I’ve changed the drift of the transmitter in DB to receive at 435.448 MHz.

EDIT: Also TTU100 is now identified as OBJECT AS (46312)

We also adjusted the tx/rx frequency on ground side, currently to 435.447 MHz. Unfortunately we cannot currently adjust the backup radio frequency on the satellite.

@mast should we expect transmissions only over Europe?

I will try to verify if periodic telemetry sending over backup transmitter is working as it should. If it works then it would transmit telemetry periodically everywhere.

If the telemetry broadcasting does not work then yes, transmissions to be expected only during passes when satellite is visible from Estonia.

I will update here as soon as I know.

We just had another uplink pass. TTU100 responded very well. At least over 100 packets received.

Hello,
From our observations so far it looks like the beacon packets are not transmitted.
But over 200 packets were received in the last 11 minute long pass with telemetry requests every 3 s. At least one more pass with active transmissions will be used today.

Have monitored several passes over the U.S. now but never anything heard. So, perhaps only active over your area. Good luck!
