Online but not operational

I just put a new station online (4454). The dashboard shows it’s “online”. The testing box is not and never has been checked. How to I make it operational so I can schedule passes?
Assistance appreciated
Jim

Curious, this is something I have never seen before.
I was able to create some obs, but they aren’t visible when selecting the station.

Please share more details, here is a link the troubleshooting page.

Is see you set target utilization to 100%, please set it back to 0% and lets see if that will help.
No idea how to read or explain this utilization percentage.

I made that change about two hours ago. No change in status. I’ll check in the morning US time.

from observation metadata:
samp-rate-rx: "w.2.048e6" should be 2.048e6 or 2048e3 (same).
antenna: "rx" should be RX.
gain: null should be some reasonable (20-30?) value in the 0-42 range or what the sdr supports.
see the omni station howto. some instructions might be outdated depending on your specific setup.

Thank you. I changed RX and gain to 30. I’m in a quite environment so will start with 30.
I don’t see anything else in the station howto you provided the link to that I need to change.

You missed samp-rate-rx, this should be 2.048e6, no w. in front of the value.

Maybe I was unclear, SATNOGS_RX_SAMP_RATE should be 2.048e6

I believe I have fixed all those errors in setup now. I’m still showing online.
Can you tell me what the algorithm is for the dashboard to indicate online vs operational? That might help me figure out what to change.
Jim

Probably this isn’t very clear (I plan to document this better), there isn’t a status “operational”, this is something you need to figure out while your station is in testing mode/status (related checkbox in the settings).

You do experimental observations (automatically marked as such when in testing mode/status) and when you reach a ready/operational level (right gain configuration, reception of satellite signals, or even better demodulating of satellite signals) then you uncheck in the settings the testing mode/status and the station turn into online and everyone knows that it is operational.

If in the future something goes wrong then you can turn it again to testing mode, fix the issue and turn it back online.
