Looking at the signal at center frequency it appears as interrupted CW signal with quite equal dot/dash ratios. Could this be a Morse Code? Did Transit use Morse Code for identification?

Yes - this is a good comment. Will continue to look-out for these passes. It is astonishing how long electronics can live, if the power source goes on (RTG). Interesting theme thise early satellite navigation systems alltogether.
No, unfortunately so far only digital modulation has been discovered. However, if you are so inclined, download the baseband and try to decode it!
