Not necessarily going to help… It could just be that the station is local-noise limited.
Instead, it should be: “If you haven’t done so, run through the ‘Setting your gain’ steps (https://wiki.satnogs.org/Omnidirectional_Station_How_To#Setting_the_gain) to help optimise your stations gain setting”
