I am a beginner and recently ran an observation for KINEIS-2C (Observation #14757738).
The pass reached a maximum elevation of 85 degrees, and the waterfall chart captured a very clear Doppler curve. However, since I am still quite new to this, I am not entirely sure if this data looks normal or if there is anything specific I should pay attention to.
Could you please share your thoughts or let me know if everything looks correct? Any advice for a beginner would be greatly appreciated!
Signal strength looks pretty good with some local terrestrial RF noise. A good start.
Have a look at this other KINEIS-2C observation for comparison. The signal should be centered in the waterfall throughout the observation. In your observation, the signal curves in the middle, which is mostly due to the time on your computer is off by some number seconds.
I checked my system time and found that NTP synchronization wasn’t active, which caused the time offset. I have now enabled systemd-timesyncd and successfully synchronized the clock.
