Regarding Observation 14496352 …I would like to report my latest observation of the ISS.
During the pass on 2026-07-13, I was able to capture a clear voice signal from a Japanese station operating on 437.800 MHz. The signal was transmitted in FM mode.
It is always a pleasure to witness successful communication via the satellite.
Good capture. Other than the language, sounds similar to US traffic on this frequency except more polite. The ISS has a strong signal and they have more solar panels for power than than the cube satellites.
They will be turning the FM repeater & APRS digipeater off during docking for the Soyuz MS-29 mission.
Thanks for the insight! I’m glad you enjoyed the capture. I suppose the “polite” tone is a bit of a standard in Japanese amateur radio. I’ll be sure to stay updated on the status during the Soyuz docking. Clear skies and happy tracking!
