Regarding Observation 12318315 …

is it possible to decode the audio file (.ogg file download) into images ? is it enough? because i try convert the .ogg file into wav using sox, and decode using satdump, but not work. maybe because the ogg file here is not baseband ?

The answer: It’s not possible to decode meteor m2-3 / meteor m2-4 using the .ogg audio file downloaded from the observation page. You should ask for the raw file — people call it the IQ file — from the station.

if you running your own station, you can add to your configuration:
SATNOGS_REMOVE_RAW_FILE = FALSE

so evertime observation done at your station, the raw file is not removed
you can find the raw data here:
/tmp/.satnogs/data

but if the observation is not on your station, you should dm the owner to keep and send the file manually to you

do you have an idea where i should i update it? maybe in the .env file along with the other configuration or simply add it in the yaml file as i’m using docker?

as the raw IQ file is overwritten every observation, due to the same target filename, you need to deal with it in post-obs.
I have explained and demonstrated the use here and I know others have similar solutions.
but generally, these files are not easily available, asking for them is highest chance I’d say.

There’s a “enable-iq-dump” option in the station. Is it like “SATNOGS_REMOVE_RAW_FILE” or does it mean we transmit the IQ to Satnogs?
If so, does it mean we can get the IQ from the website if it has been dumped?

no. the IQ file is saved locally, at /tmp/.satnogs/data
name of file like:
iq_xxxxx_xxxxx.raw
and the file size ussualy big above 50 MB
