A lot of smart people have written MANY different ways to decode the SilverSat downlink… I have lost count of the total number. Here is one method - the way I do it: (a twitter post answering someone’s question)

Everything is OK. SSDV sends down the last picture taken. We’ve now crossed below the minimum altitude on our imaging license, so we’re not taking any more pictures. I’m talking with the team on how we could back the SSDV transmissions up to one of the earlier pics.
That’s a great news(maybe not so great, but everything is operational and mission is still go). Hope that this will work. It will be nice to catch some pictures that were missed or had some spaces like this and this one.
And another question - will the SilverSat be operational during the whole time remaining or it will be turned off at some altitude?

In the United States, where SilverSat’s team is based, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration licenses organizations building or operating imaging satellites. I assume this is to maintain good diplomatic relations between the US and other nations.
