New installation of Auto-Scheduler

My Auto-Scheduler installation stopped working as a result of the recent network changes, and wouldn’t update. Since the version of Raspberry Pi OS I ran it on was very out of date, I thought I’d start again. I’ve got as far as:

schedule_single_station --station 37 -n contrib/gen_prio_file.sh 37 > priorities_37.txt
(replacing 37 with my station ID) without problems, but get an error:

bash: contrib/gen_prio_file.sh: No such file or directory

How do I proceed please?

I’ve tried downloading gen_prio_file.sh to somewhere runnable, but it doesn’t seem to create the priorities file I need.

Can anyone help me please?

Thanks,

there is upgrade on network. so you should update the auto-scheduler.

follow command in this community post

the new autoscheduler also need
pip install satnogs-predict

@testmatch tries to create a priority file with contrib/gen_prio_file.sh and that is only present when you clone the https://gitlab.com/librespacefoundation/satnogs/satnogs-auto-scheduler repository.

The latest satnogs-auto-scheduler installation are done without a repo clone, so there is some confusion also on my site, is this functionality removed with the latest update?

Thanks - that’s not the immediate problem, as PE0SAT mentions, but does help with future problems. It give me errors that 32bit Trixie on a raspberry Pi struggles with, but I’ll see where I get to.

Exactly - I’m somewhat of a novice, and struggle to interpret incomplete instructions.
Can anyone help a 32-bit Raspberry Pi Trixie user?

32bit install shouldn’t be different, I only wonder if all packages and or modules are still being offered for 32bit.

What Pi model are you using and also share as much detail of the setup as possible.

Jan | PE0SAT

Pi2 ModelB running Trixie 32-bit. It’s old and hence can’t run a 64-bit OS. However it worked great paired with a 7" touchscreen as a stand alone scheduler also running Satnogs Monitor. I could change the Pi if the OS is a problem.

I’ve got

pip install --no-cache-dir “git+https://gitlab.com/librespacefoundation/satnogs/satnogs-auto-scheduler.git”

to run wthout errors from

(.venv) pitouch@pi:~/auto-scheduler $

but

schedule_single_station --version

Gives me lots of red text that’s going to take me a lot of searching online to try to deal with. Any clues as to what I’m doing wrong would be greatfully received!

raise ImportError(msg) from exc

ImportError:

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THIS FOR ADVICE ON HOW TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE!

Importing the numpy C-extensions failed. This error can happen for

many reasons, often due to issues with your setup or how NumPy was

installed.

We have compiled some common reasons and troubleshooting tips at:

https://numpy.org/devdocs/user/troubleshooting-importerror.html

Please note and check the following:

* The Python version is: Python 3.13 from “/home/pitouch/auto-scheduler/.venv/bin/python3”

* The NumPy version is: “2.5.3”

and make sure that they are the versions you expect.

Please carefully study the information and documentation linked above.

This is unlikely to be a NumPy issue but will be caused by a bad install

or environment on your machine.

Original error was: libopenblas.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

When I ran into this problem with the 0.5 auto scheduler I finally decided to create a Virtual machine running Debian Bookworm its only function is running the auto scheduler. My other systems where already running the new testing, forky and that did work for the auto scheduler.

How did you create the venv and what python version do you use?

Jan | PE0SAT

Following librespacefoundation / SatNOGS / satnogs-auto-scheduler · GitLab

mkdir auto-scheduler
cd auto-scheduler
python3 -m venv .venv
source .venv/bin/activate

I am out of ideas and don’t have a Pi2 to test it, my last suggestion install Bookworm.
