Hey all!
I’ve been endeavoring to develop a 2-axis alt-az motorized rotator, such that I could run automated surveys. My current dish is modest in both size & weight, calibrated for HI measurements
One design that caught my eye was the SatNOGS Rotator v3. However, I’m weary of a few electrical elements that stand out as concerns for an RFI-sensitive design: namely PWM-driven steppers, a switching power supply, and a control board with an unknown emissions allowance. I do not know whether its intended use case - satellite comms - would allow a more generous emissions tolerance than a galactic 1420MHz detector
Before I spend the time to test & tweak a design, I wanted to ask the good people of LibreSpace: has anyone already spent the time & energy to produce & verify a low-emissions rotator?
