More info in:

HSKSAT and SS-1 are amateur satellites both IARU Coordinated.

OPTIMAL-1 is going to transmit probably only LoRa but I haven’t found any more info, like on which frequency or other transmissions.

Hi Fredy, Do you have preliminary TLE for SS-1 ?
thanks

For now we are going to use the ones of ISS:

0 ISS (ZARYA)
1 25544U 98067A 23006.05756006 .00014210 00000-0 25685-3 0 9997
2 25544 51.6453 51.6269 0004842 230.9539 326.4502 15.49956778376643

Or the same as above but with using the temporary NORAD ID of SS-1

SS-1
1 99369U 98067A 23006.05756006 .00014210 00000-0 25685-3 0 9993
2 99369 51.6453 51.6269 0004842 230.9539 326.4502 15.49956778376649

Given that the TLE will be soon deprecated, I’ve scheduled only for the first 24h:

HSKSAT: 203
SS-1: 232
Total: 435

To Station owners, have in mind that we use the ISS TLE set, so please when scheduling these satellites let some free slots/passes for ISS observing.

thank you Mr fredy. Hope the deployment will successfully

Does anyone can hear beacon from SS-1?

https://network.satnogs.org/observations/?future=0&norad=99369&observer=&station=&start=2023-01-06+08%3A06&end=&transmitter_mode=

Nothing until now but let’s wait some more minutes.

EDIT: Note also that the passes are low ones

There are some faint signals in two observations over US, but not sure if it is the satellite. Also we don’t know the modulation at UHF frequency, so we are not able to demodulate. :frowning:

According to this pdf ShieldSquare Captcha it looks like that SS-1 has both UHF and VHF APRS. So, I’ve changed the FM (default for unknown modulations) with AFSK1k2 for the UHF.

HSKSAT is alive and received. First reception by station "2148 - KK6OAK Oakwood School ".

More good observations at SatNOGS Network - Observations

First decoded data of HSKSAT in SatNOGS Network - Observation 6988667 by " 158 - VK6SAT - UHF " station

So, after several observations it looks like that the reception is probably AFSK1k2 and it is SS-1. However the signal is very faint to be decoded.

EDIT: @PE0SAT managed to decode the signal from SatNOGS Network - Observation 6988826

So, we have received also SS-1, however as I said the signal is faint.

Also we have reception of SS-1 on VHF too.

First reception of SS-1 for UHF by “2579 - K9YO-UHF” station.
First reception of SS-1 for VHF, with decoded data, by “2108 - YMCF” station.

TLE for SS-1, due to the limited transmission during the passes (usually 2-3 transmissions received) the set is not very accurate:

SS-1
1 99369U 23006.23627038 .00000000 00000-0 25952-3 0 07
2 99369 51.6447 51.3209 0004899 231.6381 242.1444 15.51123116 06

TLE for HSKSAT:

HSKSAT
1 99208U 23006.23627038 .00000000 00000-0 25952-3 0 09
2 99208 51.6447 50.1068 0004899 231.6381 243.7839 15.50521196 02

New TLE set for HSKSAT:

HSKSAT v4
1 99208U 23008.10000000 .00000000 00000-0 00000-0 0 05
2 99208 51.6447 40.9582 0004672 233.4013 213.2028 15.50823222 08

SS-1 hasn’t been received the last ~24h on both VHF and UHF.

There are TBA TLE sets by space-track.org:

0 TBA - TO BE ASSIGNED
1 55181U 98067UY 23010.72675335 .00059465 00000-0 10063-2 0 9995

For HSKSAT 55182 and 55183 are close, with 55182 being better fit. The 55181 object is separated from the other two, so it is a better candidate for SS-1 as it was deployed 1 hour earlier than the other two satellites. So, for HSKSAT we follow for now 55182 and for SS-1 we follow 55181.

HSKSAT is identified as OBJECT UZ (55182), here are the ikhnos results.
