ISS CubeSat Deployment NRCSD#28 (Voyager Space/Nanoracks) - ELaNa 52 - 2024-10-09 10:25 UTC

We have these deployments from ISS by Voyager Space Exploration Systems (Formerly Nanoracks):

Deployment 1, CySat-1 (3U): 6:25am ET (10:25 GMT)
Deployment 2, DORA (3U): 6:35am ET (10:35 GMT)

Temporary NORAD ID Satellite Frequency Notes Deployed
AMATEUR UHF UHF
98798 CYSAT-1 436.375 MHz IARU Coordinated Via ISS Voyager Space(Nanoracks)
98911 DORA 436.825 MHz IARU Coordinated Via ISS Voyager Space(Nanoracks)

Satellites will be available for scheduling in Network around one hour before launch. To station owners, please have in mind that we follow ISS TLE for these satellites which means:

  1. Don’t schedule too far away in the future as the TLE may change soon
  2. Leave some timeslots for ISS observations, especially due to ISS SSTV event that will start later today.

I have cleared 2 good elevation slots, 10:48 - 10:56 and 12:25 - 12:34. Lets see them

Over Madrid, Spain right now I have seen strong signals on DORA´s frequency but I copied nothing on CYSAT-1´s frequency

Indeed no signals from CYSAT-1, lets keep our fingers crossed

Some DORA decodes over the U.S. as well, but nothing seen from CYSAT-1 so far.

DORA: Decoded and uploaded 20 beacons from 12:2x and 14:0x UTC passes.
CYSAT-1: not heard

DORA:
On github they write 7.3 kbps, on IARU it’s 7.4 kbaud.
And on top, UZ7HO’s modem says 7416 bd.

There GNURadio flow graph has the bit rate value as: 7415.77

Had my best SDR & antenna looking for CYSAT-1 during each of the ISS passes today, but nothing seen. Hopefully this will be one that starts transmitting later, despite zero here right after deployment.

Hi Bob,

As mentioned in my Twitter message, it can be found at this location

Also have a look at the readme file.

Let me know if you have some questions.

Hi All,

I’m the project manager for CySat. We think our antenna has not deployed due to a logic error in our code. We are attempting to send a deployment command to the satellite via ESTTC, but are requesting help if possible, since we somewhat limited access and are still setting up automated antenna control.

Our ground station github is located at GitHub - M2I-CySat/CloneComm: The new CySat-1 Ground Station for use with satellite-ground communications. The yaml is in there, as well as the GNU Radio set up we’ve been using (called “sat-Downlink-Uplink-Fall2024”). We believe the ESTTC command we need to send is “ES+W22F2110A”, which should force an immediate attempt to deploy the antenna.

Lastly, I wanted to say thank you from all of us here, because we’ve been watching all the reports and it helps us feel a little bit less crazy.

John
