Today, at the alleged time of the RSP-3 pass, I several times observed a weak signal similar to CW with a pronounced Doppler effect.
The frequency is approximately 25 kHz below the calculated one, i.e. approximately 437.025 kHz.
I do not know any sat at this time at this frequency over KO33ru.
In SatNOGS observations I did not find this signal, or too far from the central frequency, or too weak.
maybe because this we cannot find the signal track on waterfall, because satnogs default limited to 48 kHz, 24 below, and 24 above. is it possible for station to change manually the sample rate of waterfall ?
No, this is controlled by the observation and consequently flowgraph, which is based on the DB transmitters. The mode FM and CW will always result in 48k rate.
Also, only those with a downlink frequency range can be adjusted when scheduling. For this kind of search, iirc, @fredy wants a new transmitter suggestion set as unconfirmed. I’m not sure what the limit for frequency drift is.
this is good idea
@EU1SAT can you also check if any of these where visible at that time from your station:

@bali
Before adding another transmitter for experimenting, I would suggest we get a couple more observations from different locations from this signal.
All these satellites except 55103 and 70375C are in my base and have already been checked.
NOTE
The following objects from your list are active and unequivocally defined (I often demodulate them):
55009 (OBJECT A) - STAR-VIBE
57175 (OBJECT K) - CubeBel-2
57190 (OBJECT AA) - NANOZOND-1
61783 (OBJECT BA) - ZIMSAT-2
RSP-03 437.050 kHz over KO33ru:
12:45-13:25 UTC - NOTHING HEARD
14:05-15:00 UTC - NOTHING HEARD
15:50-16:40 UTC - NOTHING HEARD
17:40-18:05 UTC - NOTHING HEARD
19:20-19:50 UTC - NOTHING HEARD
at 437.025 kHz Unknown satellite heard again
16:18-16:26 UTC
17:59-18:01 UTC
19:38-19:39 UTC
Thanks for sharing the audio file, listening, I immediately reconsigned the garbled AO-16 tones and that is sometimes active on 437.026 MHz
I guess when you add object 20439
you will see Amsat Oscar 16 also passing.
Jan | PE0SAT
According current TLE It can’t be 20439 !
Or Space-Track again confused the satellites in places?
MTV …MT approximately in CW as I hear
Thanks,
Looking at the date and time AO-16 shouldn’t be in your foot print.
A mystery, let investigate further.
Jan | PE0SAT
I have heart the signal before, can you try and listen to IQ that belongs to this observation SatNOGS Network - Observation 9305336. This IO-26.
The IQ file can be found at this location
This are the details of the recording and can be replayed with SDR#, SDR++ or similar.
Input File : 'iq_48000_9305336.wav'

Sample Encoding: 16-bit Signed Integer PCM
Jan | PE0SAT
So this isn’t CW but BPSK 1200? What about the frequency difference?
According current TLE It can’t be IO-26.
Maybe it’s time to create a separate topic?
@EU1SAT I checked your observations and based on the UTC timestamps you provided either in the screenshot or the text, here is the list of the LEO satellites that were passing over your station (at KO33ru) at all these timestamps:
NORAD ID | Satellite Name |
---|---|
25544 | 0 ISS (ZARYA) |
36827 | 0 PRISMA (TANGO) |
49044 | 0 ISS (NAUKA) |
63129 | 0 PROGRESS MS-30 |
63520 | 0 SOYUZ MS-27 |
64751 | 0 PROGRESS MS-31 |
65077 | 0 DRAGON ENDEAVOUR 6 |
65304 | 0 DRAGON CRS-33 |
65586 | 0 PROGRESS MS-32 |
65616 | 0 CYGNUS NG-23 |
To be honest I wouldn’t expect any of them to transmit at ~437MHz, so my guess is that it could be one of the deployed satellites. Except if we miss something.
Sorry to all for the confusion I maybe added to this topic, AO-16 sounded pretty convincing.
The search continues.

Unknown satellite is ISS !!!
