Hello SatNOGS community,
I am currently receiving HUCSat (WP2XZJ) telemetry with my experimental LoRa ground station and I have a question regarding the correct NORAD ID to use when submitting telemetry to the SatNOGS DB through the SiDS telemetry API.
The HUCSat entry in SatNOGS DB currently shows:
-
Temporary NORAD ID: 98291
-
Followed NORAD ID: 69794
-
Callsign: WP2XZJ
-
Frequency: 437.400 MHz
My ground station is successfully receiving HUCSat frames. For example, a recent reception was:
Satellite: HUCSAT
NORAD used by my station: 69794
Frequency: 437.400 MHz
Frame length: 16 bytes
RSSI: -110.7 dBm
SNR: -12.8 dB
ASCII payload includes: WP2XZJ
My station reports successful telemetry submissions to SatNOGS, but it does not appear in the “Most Recent Observers” section for HUCSat.
I noticed that the SatNOGS HUCSat page is still identified by 98291, while the satellite is now followed using the confirmed NORAD ID 69794.
Could you please clarify which ID should currently be used in the noradID field when submitting HUCSat telemetry through the SiDS/API?
Should an external telemetry uploader submit:
noradID=69794
or, while the SatNOGS DB entry still uses the temporary ID:
noradID=98291
I would also like to know whether SatNOGS automatically associates telemetry submitted using the followed NORAD ID (69794) with the existing HUCSat DB entry (98291), or whether the telemetry submission still needs to use the temporary ID.
Best regards,
Gustavo, LW2DTZ
