I have often seen strf plots posted in the forum, but have struggled to understand how doppler analysis works. In case anyone else is in the same situation, Understand Doppler Analysis – Riddles in the Sky has great info on what the different parts of the screen shots mean.

Good to see that @ve7til wrote that explanation! I wrote most of the software for myself as well as Scott, so many of the design choices were written for our needs and hence did not require (or got) much documentation (my apologies for that).
