Enquiry on Satnogs groundstations capabilities, DVB-S2

Dear community,

I would like to understand what are the capabilities of the SatNogs groundstations that support DVB-S2 downlink. In particular:

  1. Within the S-Band groundstations, do they support the 2200-2300 MHz band?
  2. Are QPSK modcods 1 to 11 supported?
  3. Are 8PSK modcods 12 to 17 supported?
  4. Are there any limitations in the minimum symbol rates? for example, using some 200kBauds?

In general there isn’t DVB-S2 support in the current SatNOGS ground station software.

  1. There are some ground stations that support S-band frequencies, you can check them in the station search page by filtering it with frequency, for example for 2250MHz here are the results.
  2. There is no currently support for QPSK
  3. There is no currently support for 8PSK
  4. I don’t have a clear answer but in the past high symbol rates weren’t supported due to hardware limitation in some stations, however this needs to be tested.
