Hello SatNOGS team,
I would like to report what looks like a wrong object in the TLE for JAMX01 (SatNOGS DB sat_id FHBV-2936-6768-6010-3809, provisional NORAD 98248).

What the DB serves
/api/tle/?norad_cat_id=98248 (updated 2026-10-08T07:23Z) returns a TLE whose international designator is 26195E:
1 98248U 26195E 26280.66226716 .00002688 00000-0 16931-3 0 9995
2 98248 97.5335 353.7340 0013856 120.6019 239.6579 15.09934257 6576
On CelesTrak, 2026-195E is BY70-4 (NORAD 100469), not JAMX01. CelesTrak currently labels 2026-195A (100465) as “JAMX01 (JING’AN DREAM STAR)”. -
My observation
I recorded an IQ pass of JAMX01 on 2026-10-09 (01:49:38 UTC start, 250 kS/s, centred on the SatNOGS DB SSTV transmitter at 435.175 MHz), with Doppler correction computed from the SatNOGS TLE above. The signal drifted away from the corrected frequency by up to −17 kHz. After undoing the applied correction, I compared the measured Doppler curve with the CelesTrak OMM element sets of every object of launch 2026-195 (A to G):
Object NORAD RMS error vs. measured Doppler
195A “JAMX01” 100465 9.6 kHz (not even above the horizon at the time)
195B 100466 9.3 kHz
195C 100467 11.0 kHz
195D 100468 10.9 kHz
195E (BY70-4) 100469 10.5 kHz
195F “OBJECT F” 100470 0.24 kHz
195G 100471 10.4 kHz
Only 2026-195F (NORAD 100470, CelesTrak epoch 2026-10-08T04:33Z) fits, with no time shift. The transmitter frequency came out at 435.175 MHz ± 0.2 kHz. The SatNOGS TLE (195E) predicts the pass about 212 s late. The decoded signal is analog FM SSTV (Robot 36, overlay “BJ1BJA”), so it is a transmission from JAMX01 and not from another satellite. -
Request
- Please check which object the TLE source for JAMX01 (98248) refers to, and whether it should be 2026-195F (NORAD 100470) rather than 195E.
- If you can confirm it, please update the TLE (or the norad_follow_id) for JAMX01; note that CelesTrak’s name assignment (195A) does not match my measurement either. An operator confirmation would be valuable.
- Note that NORAD ids above 99999 cannot be served in the classic TLE format; CelesTrak provides them as OMM only.
I can share the Doppler analysis and, if useful, the IQ recording. Thank you for your work on SatNOGS.
