This is my recollection as well!

Here are some comments I sent out to an email I received back in 2021:

What I’d suggest is setting the ‘Cycle’ setting in gpredict to something like 5000 (5s). The default (1s) is simply too fast for the 847 to keep up. If memory serves it takes something like 2-3 seconds for the exchange between the 847 and gpredict to take place!

What is the difference between 1001 ft-847 and 1038 ft-847UNI
Is the UNI for the earlier 847’s with the one way Cat port?
I have used your above rigctld line and mine appears to now be tracking.
Time will tell, but thank you for your helpful post
