Myself and a few others enjoy listening around on the 400-403 MHz Commercial satellite band and identifying what signal is from what satellite (using Cees’s awesome STRF software: https://github.com/cbassa/strf ). Would it be OK to add the data gathered (frequency vs sat ID) into the SatNOGS satellite DB? Not necessarily for scheduling observations (and there isn’t going to be much point doing so, as we won’t get telemetry info), but more so we have a central repository of information on satellites operating in this band.
This could be useful when trying to identify satellites on new launches, in that we can ‘rule out’ particular objects which have been observed to transmit on the commercial band, if it’s expected to show up on the amateur bands.
