Clarification on Observation

So from what I have gathered from Operation - SatNOGS Wiki, I would only need to click schedule and ensure the Antenna, SDR, Linux PC containing the setnogs client are connected and turned on. After that the system will automatically run during the scheduled time and activate and upload the data to Satnogs.

  1. Are my assumption correct?
  2. I have heard that I will also need gr-satnogs, how do I know if I have it, I have checked and do not see a file named gr-sanogs
  3. Do I need to turn on a SDR software like CubicSDR?

Essentially what is needed to be turned on for an automated observation?

Thank you very much for your time.

  1. Yes, if you have a complete setup you will not need anything more than scheduling on the Network. Client will gather info from Network, perform the observation and upload the results to Network.
  2. If you are not using the Raspberry Pi image then you need to install gr-satnogs and satnogs-flowgraphs manually by following the steps in each README file.
  3. Client, gr-satnogs and satnogs-flowgraphs after configuration will take care of handling the SDR during the observation. No need to use any other SDR software.
