"cannot open display" error when installing in macOS Big Sur (11.1)

I have installed gpredict and XQuartz via macports and the following error when trying to run gpredict:

(gpredict:4739): Gtk-WARNING **: 22:06:19.185: cannot open display: :0

I’ve tried following the guidance here but it has made no difference. Any advice?

So did you tried to change ssh configuration? Are you ssh’ing? Does any other X app works for you? Please help us to help you by being more specific on what you have done.

Solved. Solution is to open XQuartz first.
