Darrell Gordon, W4CX here. Have been working the sats for about 5 years now…on and off. I enjoy “listening” more than talking. Data collection and publication is a big interest of mine. I have a personal weather station and was fascinated with the idea of SatNOGS after reading about it in Ward Silver’s articled about building a Personal Space Weather Station in the April 2018 issue of QST. My station’s up and operational now (having force-fed myself some LINUX expertise) on my new Raspberry Pi. I’m learning by the seat of my pants, and have discovered the RF (antenna) side of my station could use some attention. I’m enjoying reading the comments and best-practices of others, and hope to be contributing soon. BTW, Age here is 67 and I’ve been a ham since 1969. Living in Raleigh, NC amongst the 80 foot pines that makes capturing low passes a challenge. But that’s half the fun!
73, Darrell W4CX
