UmKA-1 over Brazil
!!
Many thanks Aleksey @RA3PPY for this SSTV event! Although I missed a couple of images, I really enjoyed it.
Hi,
when can I expect to receive my QSL certificate?
Best regards
We are awaiting the results from LABRE. The event was huge (considering that thousands of HF contacts took place).
Therefore, there is a very long queue of certificates to be issued. I requested some urgency from the LABRE members. Let’s wait and see what happens ![]()

No music heard in the recent pass some minutes ago over Madrid Spain
wondering from what song is this? @ra3ppy
Hi. This is the melody from the song “The Polar Bear’s Lullaby” from the cartoon “Umka”
Hello everyone, guys.
Starting tomorrow, April 1st, the UMKA-1 satellite will begin broadcasting an audio signal as part of a general system test.
Reception Parameters:
Start - 01:00 utc
Finish - 19:50 utc
Frequency: 437.625 MHz
Interval: Every 4 minutes
A small request for our “signal hunters”:
UMKA-1 is no longer young, and our team is keeping a close eye on its “health.” This careful monitoring is what allows us to continue introducing new types of orbital interactions and events.
When receiving the audio, please record the battery state data if possible. Please share any telemetry frames, specifically battery voltage. Your feedback will help us optimize transmission intervals for future activities and extend the mission’s lifespan!

got the audio in this obs
and got the decoded data
During the pass over Japan from 01:07 to 01:19 (UTC), I was also able to hear UmKA’s lullaby!
Five valid data packets were successfully decoded and uploaded. I hope they contain useful information about the battery status.

“The Polar Bear’s Lullaby” was received here in Brazil
!!. The reception wasn’t the best, and neither was the recording system.
But I loved the result !! This satellite does a fantastic job with the HAM community ![]()
