UMKA-1 telescope satellite mission

it work with wine in linux. nice app. with “image adjustment” button we can set the brightness, contrast, sharpness, noise filter . thanks for share

Question about the SSTV operations - yesterday I received a couple of images (one of them was the drawing of the mountains), all in robot36 mode.
Today I received the image of the mountains in robot 72.

Are the images encoded by the On-Board computer? does it automatically decide what mode to transmit? or is this a command from the ground? and if so - when do you decide if it’s robot36 or robot72?

Thanks!

if im not sure, i just use mode auto, in QSSTV app

I meant in terms of transmission. Same image, once transmitted in 36 and once in 72.

Hi, yes, the mountain image was received by me in Robot 72 mode on 2 consecutive days, with the other images sent in Robot 36 mode.

No idea why…

11.11 RACE⚡️

So, the annual global shopping day on November 11th is just around the corner, and our limited-edition Troika card giveaway is in full swing. It’s the perfect time to combine the two events and give away extra cards!

But, as we know, it’s important to be faster and more attentive than everyone else to snag what you want, so we’re announcing a RACE for space cards on November 11th⬇️

On November 11th, special “promo codes” in ASCII will be broadcast from the Space-π “UmKA-1” and Vizard-meteo satellites for 24 hours.

Each “promo code” (Spacepicode#XXXXXXXX) will be broadcast every three minutes from each satellite for the duration of the PROMOTION!

The three people who successfully accept and enter the most secret “promo codes” into a special FORM (link will be published on November 10th) will receive a whole set of limited-edition Troika cards as a gift!
The next 10 participants will be able to claim two cards each.

Foreign radio amateurs can also participate in the 11.11 RACE, but those who collect the most special “promo codes” are guaranteed special electronic CERTIFICATES!!

Photos of the lucky space card winners will be transmitted from our satellites after the event ends!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

  • Tune your equipment to the UmKA-1 (RS40S) and Vizard-Meteo (RS38S) frequencies,
  • Receive the most special “promo codes” from our satellites on 11.11,
  • Upload it to the special form
  • Wait for the results!

The most skilled radio amateurs will be contacted by the permanent admin of the Space-π channel, @spacelawyer, to receive their gifts.

:shushing_face:We recommend recalling “SPACE RACE” to understand the process.

Get your antennas ready, set your reminders, we’re launching soon🔜

try this on satnogs and show up this warning box:
VIZARD-meteo(57189) is frequency violator satellite

This means, that RS38S has not IARU coordinated.

I’ll have a go at receiving these signals. But it’s not a level ‘playing field’ because those in the region of the world where these Cubesats will pass over first (time-wise) will surely have an advantage

wow. who is that?

Hi!
Checking in on this - were they sent?

It’s not only “who” but also “how many”.

today (half hour ago) finally i got the e-qsl

Best wishes from Aleksey RA3PPY and the UMKA-1 mission team.
73!

thank you @ra3ppy !

Thanks to the UMKA-1 team got the QSL for the Sputnik quest.

Hi everyone. Daniel, thanks for sharing.

A little clarification. The goal is to receive a code value from the satellite and enter it into a special form first. Subsequent attempts to enter the same code will not count.

The satellites each begin their transmission at their own point and end at approximately the same point.

Regarding the advantages, of course there are. In areas with a low number of amateur radio operators, competition is lower and the chance of entering the code first is higher. In densely populated areas, where there are more operators, the chance of entering the code is significantly lower. The advantage lies with larger antennas and faster entry speeds, or even automation of the process.

But the main goal is simply to add variety to the lives of radio amateurs who enjoy receiving satellite data. Treat this event as entertainment with a touch of competition and luck.

Unfortunately, the team hasn’t yet come up with a simple and completely equal competition for all participants. Ultimately, it all comes down to experience and technical equipment.

Important information!

Link to a special form.

You will need to enter your email and code word for each attempt.

Both CubeSats—UMKA and VM—will be set to 4800 bps during the “race.”

November 11th - First lap of the race

November 15th - Second lap of the race

Hello, I missed the message.
Only the drawing and the schedule, which has a pre-specified format, are loaded on board. The command from the ground is issued only once to launch the schedule. The onboard computer handles the rest.

For the past transfer of drawings.
The schedule indicated the mode once as Robot36, another time as Robot72.

on satno obs, is it work with Mode U - GMSK 9k6 (USP) TLM ?

If I understand correctly, there can only be 2 winners, one for each Cubesat. Is that correct? If so, and if this ‘race’ is to encourage young students to be interested in space etc, then as an ‘old scientist’ and a science teacher of 20 years - my opinion is that this race should only be open to students, so that they have a chance to win, rather than us very experienced guys and gals! Perhaps there should be a race only open to students and another race open to adults.
