Apologies for not replying -I only just got back here! I guess you got the answer by now ?!
:CQ :SONATE-2 - Greetings from space
is just the regular beacon, no response.
The response would consist of the same packet you sent but with hbit=1. This indicates that the packet has been digipeated. This is usually displayed as a * after the digipeater callsign, like DP0SNX*.
However, since I assume that you do not hear PE1NTN directly and PE1NTN’s packet doesn’t have the * after DP0SNX, AFSK1200 Decoder just doesn’t mark digipeated packets.
If so, using AFSK1200 Decoder you won’t be able to identify a digipeated packet.
Thanks Daniel,
I was using my handheld radio with whip antenna I heard the :CQ :SONATE-2 - Greetings from space’ on handheld but no message received back.
AFSK1200 decoder was listen through my SDR to capture the packet data.
I need to get a directional antenna setup for better results.
If you like to stay on VHF and are able to do 9k6, then GRBBeta und BDSat-2 would be easier to work. Just have a look on the Digipeater Dashboard.
Thanks I’ll take a look and see when there next above me. But I don’t think the handheld will be able to be programmed with 9k6.
Not able to do 9k6 but did manage to get the space station for the first time.
