SatNOGS and the Dwingeloo Telescope

Today, Tammo Jan and I hooked up a crappy rtl-sdr to the 25m Dwingeloo Telescope and used its own control software to track a few satellites. Because of the slewing/tracking limitations of the telescope we could only target very low passes (elevation less than 10 degrees or so), but we got very good results regardless. See Station 384 (PI9CAM).

Here’s a short video showing how we operate the telescope. We can only operate the telescope in SatNOGS mode when we are physically there, so it will only be used in special circumstances.
