OPS-SAT re-entry

Hi Bob, all,

Last night we had a (very unfortunate) complete breakdown of our OPS-SAT ground infrastructure - we are just finishing the recovery but the frames collector is back online (using a backup from yesterday 5AM UTC).

We will also monitor this forum post for any feedback.

Cheers,
Dominik

Thanks update Dominik. Unfortunate to say the least. Glad of recovery! Will continue to listen until re-entry confirmed. Best, Bob

There is a new TLE set from space-track:

0 OPS-SAT
1 44878U 19092F 24143.22904034 .06417342 25008-5 14749-2 0 9994
2 44878 97.4128 349.3814 0010569 262.6189 97.3904 16.29863034246490

It seems that the TLE is updated but still doesn’t follow the last received signals.

TLE in OPS-SAT re-entry - #20 by fredy seems to be more accurate.

One more update, it may not be very accurate as it is based in one only pass but it is better than the previous ones:

Thanks. We will try to recover the missing frames from faulty RAID for the final leaderboard summary, but unlikely this will happen before tomorrow.

Meanwhile we are trying our best to track it over S Band for the last time tonight.

It looks like that OPS-SAT is now re-entered.

In the last passes over Network’s stations there aren’t any visible signals.

For the record, space-track gave one last TLE set, however this wasn’t very precise on the last observations as they were performed after the epoch of TLE:

0 OPS-SAT
1 44878U 19092F 24143.77970016 .14447970 25853-5 44001-3 0 9999
2 44878 97.4095 350.0237 0012272 261.4589 98.5322 16.44005814246583

Congratulations to ESA and to people who worked for this successful mission!

PS A reminder that OPS-SAT among other experiments performed LSF’s SIDLOC experiment.

Last receptions from OPS-SAT from SatNOGS Network were from five Australian Stations:

Thank you for amazing support everyone. As always, SatNOGS community was the best!

We are leaving the systems as-is for now, while team is working hard on recovering the lost frames from frames-collector, so the leaderboard is as complete as possible.
