Is the main improvement in your system due to the removal of the USB cable shield?

The most important thing I did: Put my QFH on the roof. Not under the roof. And yes: The removal of the shield from the USB cable creates less interference on my setup. I can’t say if it’s a good thing or not – electrically; safety. For me it works!

Sure. Raspberry Pi 2, TP-Link TL-WN822N, RTLSDR R820T2 unmodified, satellite inline preamp setup – the same one you can see here: http://www.satellitenwelt.de/equipment.htm, a very old DIY QFH antenna I build years ago.

The high passes are ok:

But: As you can see the today’s NOAA 19 passes that are not high passes – east/west – have problems in the south.

But: I am very pleased.
