Observation 12774083: NOAA 15 (25338)

Regarding Observation 12774083

Hi, I’ve recently started working on my s-band setup. It’s a hackRF, cm4, g5500, and a back fire helix in s-band. I’ve been looking for good s-band satellites to try and get a signal from. I accidentally stumbled on NOAA15 (not realizing it should be decommissioned) and it seems like it might be sending a signal on s-band? Can any of you confirm that I am or am not seeing a signal? I’ve picked up on three different passes.

Also any recommendations for s-band satellites to track and test out against would be great.

Thanks

Hello. I don’t observe on S-band, but from the shape and curve, it’s looks like from a terestrial source(s). And if on those three passes the signals are almost identical, it probably confirmed its terestrial source.

BTW, a very cool station that you have!

Indeed this signal doesn’t look like to be from a satellite. Signals from a well-tracked object should be follow a straight vertical line, you can find some examples in Operation - SatNOGS Wiki.
