btw i have a NOOBS idea. how to decode lora data using cheap iot device like heltec lora s3 board etc and send back to satnogs network
the easy way is just put command on satnogs pre-obs. this command will write text file contain norad-id that can accessed locally for example on http://local_satno_ip:8080/trigger.txt
on lora device, we create a basic firmware, that always monitoring that trigger.txt. when the sat pass, it contain norad id. the lora device then check the norad id to eksternal / lokal api contain all lora info about the sat, like frequency, etc. than execute to receipt the signal.
all decoded data then submited to our local ground station. on our local gs, we create an app to receive the data. for example http://local_satno_ip:8080/submit
this app then will write file to satno data folder (same format with telemetry data that satno used). that as ussual will uploaded automatically by satno-client.
when obs finished, we put command on satnogs post-obs, to null trigger.txt

That’s a very good idea, basically as I did it sucessfully for two Lora sat missions described here OE6ISP - Callsign Lookup by QRZ Ham Radio
The only difference is, that I dont control the boards from Satnogs, but manually or by TinyGS autotune. TinyGS manages the scheduling, frequency and parameter-settings (important!) and - for FSK-satellites - the frequency tracking. Rotator can also be operated from the Lora-board with a little hack.
What I dont have a solution for is, how to control the LoRa board from Satnogs - this was not so important for me, because I usually tune the station to a specific satellite only. I am not sure if it’s worth the effort to fully integrate the board into the satnogs scheduling mechanism.
i think we can inject code to tinygs firmware, so will ignore autoschedule from tinygs, but listening norad id from local satnogs. and finaly send data both to our satno obs, but also to tinygs mqtt
