ISAR Spectrum - Andøya - 2026-04-09 20:00 UTC

Hi everyone,
finally we can talk more about the next TU satellite CyBEEsat / TUBSAT-33 and its launch soon on the second Spectrum rocket of Isar Aerospace (First launch recap: Mission Going Full Spectrum). I hijacked this thread as all the payloads luckily were moved to the second launch. More information about the launch can be found on the website of Isar Aerospace: Isar Aerospace - Mission-2

For CyBEEsat I already put the information into the SatNOGS DB a while ago: SatNOGS DB - CyBEEsat. From the website: SpaceTeamSat1 from TU Wien Space Team, CyBEEsat from us and FRAMSat-1 from NTNU are still on the rocket in the first container and TRISAT-S in the second container, while MSAE-OTTER and the TOM satellites are not a part of this launch anymore. According to the website Let It Go from Dcubed and Platform 6 from EnduroSat are added to the launch, but I am not sure in which container or how big they are.

I will update the post as soon as we have a TLE for tracking.

The current launch time is 2026-01-21 20:00:00 (UTC) with a launch window of 15 minutes.
@fredy if you need more information for the launch please let me know.

Lets keep our fingers crossed for a successful second launch

Thanks for the updates!

Do you have a list of the satellites going up w/ their downlink frequencies, modulation, framing, & baudrate, etc?

I only know details about CyBEEsat, see details in SatNOGS DB - CyBEEsat. I also found in DB:

Thanks again for gathering that info.

browsing this thread, open the spaceteam.at website and voila found it:

interesting

@julianharbeck thanks for the info, I’ll check the details for this launch later today and tomorrow. If you have any preliminary TLE let us know.

We will get a preliminary state vector / TLE most likely later today, will update then.

@fredy Is there anything still missing that you need for setting up the satellites?

No I think we are all set, I’m going to do the necessary the next hours. Thank you!

I’ve split the thread to this new one in order to separate the two launches, the first one that didn’t go well and this new one.

I’m going to create the entries for the satellites in DB and use the preliminary TLE for all the satellites that will be launched.

@fredy Launch has been scrubbed for today, will keep you updated as soon as there is a new launch opportunity.

No news of a second attempt? Seems odd for so much time to go by without seeing something online when a launch is scrubbed.

The launch window closed on Friday evening, no new date has been announced.

From the Isar Aerospace Twitter Account:

Following the launch attempt on Wednesday, 21 January, which was scrubbed to address an issue with a pressurization valve, we are taking additional time to complete targeted checks and preparations before the next launch attempt. More updates to follow.

New Spectrum-2 launch date NET 19 March

A new launch date has been published for the upcoming Monday, 2026-03-23 at ~08:00 UTC.

Isar Aerospace is targeting NET 23 March to launch mission ‘Onward and Upward’ during the available launch window, which opens at 9pm CET. This adjustment is due to unfavorable weather conditions in the launch area in the coming days. The final date remains subject to weather, safety and range infrastructure. Our team is continuing final preparations, and we’ll keep monitoring conditions closely as we approach the new launch window.

The second flight and qualification mission of Isar Aerospace’s ‘Spectrum’ launch vehicle will be broadcast live on YouTube: https://youtube.com/live/MsbZj8PxmUk

The livestream will start at approximately:

  • T-01h00min
  • 8:00pm CET
  • 7:00pm UTC
  • 2:00pm ET

Fixed in DB and in the first post my mistake, so now we have all the satellites in DB updated as they should have been for this launch.

Thank you @fredy for fixing them

At the moment I cannot share any better TLEs, will let you know if that changes.

Hi Julian,

Could you give us information about how to decode the 1k2 GMSK?

And, do you issue QSL cards for showing reception reports?

Hi Daniel,
thanks for showing interest into observing CyBEEsat. We will issue QSL cards and for demodulating you can use/adapt our public ground station flowgraph. As the satellite is not in amateur radio band, but short duration mission band the telemetry is encrypted (at least for the moment). However I was thinking about setting up a bridge between our YAMCS instance and the SatNOGS DB (similar to PHASMA) to forward the decrypted telemetry, but that will be a topic to discuss after the launch.
